For the past several years I have “hard boiled” our Easter eggs in the oven. I prefer to do it this way because it is easier and the eggs are less likely to crack. This year I did 5 dozen Easter eggs in the oven, 2.5 dozen at a time! I highly recommend cooking hard boiled Easter eggs in the oven. Here are the 3 easy steps:
- Put eggs in muffin cups in muffin tins, and preheat oven to 350.
- Cook eggs at 350 for 30 minutes.
- After removing from oven, immediately put in a bowl of ice water for 15 minutes. Dry on towel.
That’s it! Three easy steps to oven-cooked hard-boiled Easter eggs. I read that you should use store-bought eggs for this method, as farm-fresh eggs will explode in the oven (I have no idea why!). Also, if you get some brown spots on the eggs, they wash off easily in water.
Simply put your eggs in the refrigerator until you are ready to color them for Easter! Have you ever hard-boiled your Easter eggs in the oven? If so, leave a comment below.
