We all have that person (or persons) on our Christmas gift list – the person who can buy whatever they want, and seems to have everything. Yet, in the spirit of the holiday season, we want to show our appreciation and love and care for that person. What do we give them? Here are 3 suggestions:
1) Give them an experience. Purchase tickets to a museum or a historical site. Pay for them to attend a musical or play. The fact that they have the tickets already purchased will make them far more likely to take time out of their busy schedules to enjoy the experience. They will always have the memories of the time they spent visiting the museum or watching the play.
2) Give them a food gift. Think outside the box. If they love locally grown and raised, visit a local farm and get some farm-raised meat, fresh honey or maple syrup, and fresh eggs. If eating organic is their thing, visit Whole Foods and find some new organic items they could try. Food is always a useful and appreciated gift.
3) Give them a personalized gift. For a grandmother, have your children frame their handprints or footprints. Purchase a photo gift such as a photo mug, a key chain, or even a canvas print. No matter how much money someone has, a personalized gift is not something they can just go out and buy themselves. Plus, it will remind your loved one of your family all year long!
